About
Himanshu Singh
Scientist C (Non-Medical), Department of Psychiatry, AIIMS New Delhi.
Working at the intersection of neuroimaging, signal processing, and computational neuroscience.
My work focuses on understanding brain function and behavior through measurable signals — spanning MRI/NMR physics, multimodal neuroimaging, speech, and electrophysiology. I am particularly interested in building scalable, interpretable tools for mental health research and clinical translation.
Current role
- Scientist C (Non-Medical), AIIMS Delhi (Department of Psychiatry): development of speech-based markers for depression, including real-time auditory and speech metrics aligned with PHQ-9–style clinical assessments.
Research directions
- Multimodal biomarkers for neural reorganization and clinical outcomes
- MRI / NMR methods: functional and structural techniques; sequence and technique development; anatomical model elucidation
- AI & deep learning for neurobehavioral modeling and stimulation/interaction frameworks
- Computational psychiatry: automation, screening tools, and scalable analysis pipelines
Education
- PhD (Submitted), Department of NMR, AIIMS New Delhi (2020–present)
- M.Sc. Electronics, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi (2018)
- B.Sc. (Hons.) Electronics, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College, University of Delhi (2015)
Tools & methods
- Neuroimaging: FSL, FreeSurfer, AFNI, SPM, MRtrix, DSI Studio, ExploreDTI, 3D Slicer
- Signals: EEG (including simultaneous EEG–fMRI workflows), auditory brainstem and audiogram modalities
- Programming: Python, C/C++/C#, Linux shell scripting
